POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Manager, Human Resources works closely with the Vice President, Human Resources to administer and coordinate assigned programs including, but not limited to, new hire staffing support, orientation and onboarding, professional development, culture, Equitable, Fair and Respectful Workplace Policy initiatives, company meetings, and wellness initiatives. The Manager performs ongoing Human Resources generalist functions related to benefits administration, employee relations, policy administration, and employee events, and supports a workplace environment consistent with the mission outlined by GCP leadership.


SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - $70,000


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations for GCP—including staffing support, benefits administration, employee relations, management support, and HR administration—in partnership with the Vice President, Human Resources.
  • Coordinate and manage end-to-end hiring activities across the organization, including partnering with hiring managers, supporting requisition and salary range review, posting roles, managing applicant flow, coordinating selection steps, and preparing and issuing offers.
  • Manage and administer the new hire orientation and onboarding process, including the following functions: (1) Conduct and/or coordinate new hire orientation to complete required paperwork and review key policies, benefits, payroll, attendance, and organizational resources; ensure new hires receive timely guidance and follow-up. (2) Maintain structured onboarding resources and sessions (in-person and online) to educate new hires on company values, teams, and key processes; keep materials current and aligned with organizational updates.
  • Manage the relationship with the Employee Assistance Program provider and coordinate employee awareness efforts to support appropriate utilization; identify relevant training and development resources available through the program.
  • Implement and coordinate professional development initiatives by assessing training needs and supporting programs that improve performance and employee growth in alignment with organizational goals. (1) Coordinate training and development opportunities identified through performance discussions and organizational needs. (2) Track and monitor training-related spending against budget allocations; escalate variances and needs to the Vice President, Human Resources. (3) Collect feedback and evaluate training effectiveness; recommend adjustments and support development of training materials as needed. (4) Provide guidance to managers on performance management, team effectiveness, and employee relations, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and administer the organization’s internship program, including partnering with intern managers, posting roles, managing applicants, scheduling interviews, preparing offers, coordinating intern communications, and supporting an intern events calendar.
  • Maintain all human resources records in accordance with guidelines established by the Vice President, Human Resources and by following the guidelines of the GCP Document Retention and Destruction Policy.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees by providing timely guidance on HR policies, benefits, and general HR processes through multiple communication channels.
  • Identify operational improvements to HR programs, systems, and procedures that support attraction, development, and retention; make recommendations to the Vice President, Human Resources and support implementation as approved.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in all HR matters and employee information.
  • Partner with the Vice President, Human Resources to support delivery of HR services and consistent application of policies and practices.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable employment laws and compliance requirements related to benefits, compensation, and employment practices; flag risks and coordinate with the Vice President, Human Resources and/or counsel as appropriate.
  • Coordinate staff events and engagement activities, including vendor coordination, event logistics, employee communications, and budget tracking.
  • Coordinate wellness programming and annual wellness events to support employee awareness and engagement, including education, vendor/resources coordination, and health assessment logistics as applicable.
  • Support a positive workplace culture by coordinating and reinforcing practices aligned with the Equitable, Fair and Respectful Workplace Policy; assist with related employee education, communications, and initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date job descriptions for all team members.
  • Manage the record retention process for GCP.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
  • 3-5 years of progressive broad-based human resources experience
  • HRCI PHR certification a plus (or similar SHRM certifications) or desire to obtain an HR certification.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with organizational and/or professional development or training a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to strategically and tactically evaluate and implement HR related programs and initiatives.
  • Ability to work with a variety of organizational leadership.
  • Ability to bring credibility to the human resources function through professional qualifications and leadership skills.
  • Superior organizational skills are required.
  • Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships.
  • Must be self-directed and motivated.
  • Be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations
  • Ability to conduct business in a professional and confidential manner when dealing with human resources issues.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Comfort using artificial intelligence (AI)–enabled tools to support productivity, analysis, communication, and decision-making, with appropriate judgment and adherence to responsible use guidelines.
  • Self-starter with solid problem-solving skills.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be required to work more than 8 hours during a workday.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Limited travel/driving required.
  • Significant manual dexterity for keying in data for long periods of time.

 

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Available during standard business hours of 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday.
  • Must work core in office hours from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. for coverage and collaboration.
  • Flexibility for occasional off-hours work to support events and content production.
  • Ability to work in the office a minimum of four (4) days (Monday through Thursday) with the option work remotely on Friday with supervisor approval.
