Position: Middle School Math Teacher - Two Positions Available
Reports to: HJS Building Principal

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging and rigorous math lessons aligned with state standards and the school’s curriculum, emphasizing the core values of Trust, Respect, Ownership, and Leadership.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive classroom environment where all students feel empowered to take risks, ask questions, and persevere through challenges.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse needs of learners, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to excel.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate mathematical concepts across the curriculum and promote interdisciplinary connections.
- Prepare students for success in Ohio State Testing by providing targeted instruction, practice opportunities, and ongoing assessment.
- Provide timely feedback to students to guide their mathematical understanding and support their academic growth and development.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about their child’s progress in math and offering resources for reinforcement at home.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Valid Ohio teaching license/certification in Mathematics or eligibility for licensure (Licensure: 4-9, K-8 or 1-8).
- Demonstrated success in facilitating student growth in mathematical proficiency, particularly in standardized testing measures.
- Experience working with middle school students in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of trust, respect, ownership, and leadership within the school community.
- Willingness to engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay abreast of current educational research and best practices.
