Mason City Schools is seeking a dynamic individual for a Band Teacher position at Mason Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year.
Middle school level band position with an emphasis on woodwind pedagogy. This individual should be a highly motivated, energetic individual with a desire to teach at the middle school level. This is a team teaching position as one of three band directors at Mason Middle School and includes involvement with all levels of the Mason City Schools Band Program, as well as the high school marching band. The ideal candidate will also need to be versed in brass teaching/performance techniques, full ensemble instruction, and conducting.
Qualifications
A dynamic, engaging personality
Skilled in instructing, motivating, and interacting with middle school band students
Skilled in team teaching and working as part of a middle school band team, and 6-12 band team to plan instruction as part of an aligned band curriculum.
Skilled in teaching and playing all woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments
Experience working with parents, booster organizations, and the community
Bachelors or Masters degree in Music Education
Other minimum qualifications include:
Valid Ohio K-12 Music Certificate
Experience in working as a Band teacher with a woodwind emphasis preferred.
Willingness to engage in continued professional development and work as a member of a collaborative team.
