Join the Y as a Program Director and lead high-impact programs that support children and families year-round! During the school year, you’ll oversee daily operations of our licensed afterschool programs across multiple sites, fostering safe, engaging environments for children in grades K–5. In the summer, you’ll shift into a leadership role at Camp Koda, managing operations and ensuring campers have a fun, meaningful, and enriching experience. Schedule and Location:
This position works in the Georgia Elementary School location for both afterschool and Camp Koda.
This is a year-round hourly position scheduled for 37 hours per week during the school year (August–June) and 40 hours per week during the summer (June–August). During the school year, the position includes 20 hours per week of in-person program supervision, 10 hours of on-site collaboration with schools, and 7 hours of remote administrative work. Summer work is primarily based at Camp Koda locations, with full-time on-site responsibilities.

What You’ll Do:
During the Summer (Camp Koda):
- Serve as a Camp Director for Camp Koda, overseeing daily camp operations and staff teams
- Lead and mentor seasonal camp staff, ensuring strong program delivery and camper safety
- Coordinate weekly camp schedules, field trips, and special events
- Communicate effectively with camp families, including weekly newsletters and updates
- Ensure daily safety procedures, including transportation, attendance tracking, and incident reporting
- Oversee camper rosters, group assignments, and equipment/supply needs
- Model and promote positive behavior, inclusion, and Y core values
- Manage and resolve day-to-day challenges with flexibility and professionalism
During the School Year (Afterschool Program):
- Oversee day-to-day operations of licensed afterschool programs serving children in grades K–5
- Supervise and support Site Directors and part-time staff across multiple program locations
- Collaborate with school administrators to align programs with school culture and goals
- Develop and implement curriculum and activities in line with Y values and licensing requirements
- Ensure programs meet or exceed Vermont Child Care Licensing regulations
- Track and submit licensing and BFIS compliance documentation
- Create and manage staff schedules, timesheets, and payroll approvals
- Communicate regularly with families and respond to concerns or behavioral incidents
- Plan and host family engagement events such as Kids Night Out
- Monitor rosters, attendance, and enrollment logistics across sites
Year-Round Responsibilities:
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and community events as a representative of the Y
- Support continuous improvement of both afterschool and camp programs
- Be flexible and willing to substitute at other sites when needed.
