Greater Binghamton Health Center (GBHC) is currently recruiting Direct Care Staff/Mental Health Therapy Aides (MHTA).

Direct Care Staff/MHTAs at GBHC are an integral part of a treatment team that helps to support patient health and safety by teaching patients’ daily life skills and promoting acceptable behaviors and verbal skills. Direct Care Staff/MHTAs help support hope and recovery for adults with serious mental illness and children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances.
Direct Care Staff/MHTAs at GBHC:
- Provide direct care and support to patients.
- Support patient health and safety.
- Teach patients daily life skills like personal hygiene and nutrition.
- Encourage individuals to participate in physical and social activities.
- Accompany patients to treatment, activities, and appointments on and off facility grounds.
- Teach, model, and promote acceptable behaviors and verbal skills.
- Write notes describing patient activities and their progress toward recovery goals.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
* Depending on assignment, you may be required to possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State at the time of appointment and continuously thereafter.
