What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optician position at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC)?
Under direct supervision of the Lead Optometrist and Practice Manager, you will be responsible for assisting patients in retail optical purchases, adjustments and repairs. Responsible for entering and billing all orders.Education:
High school diploma or GED, A.B.O. certification a plus but not required
Experience:
1 year relevant experience (optical retail, dispensing, etc.) preferred
Skills:
*Accuracy, thoroughness and willingness to assist coworkers
*Desire to further knowledge by attending continuing education seminars and optical conventions
*Willingness and desire to learn by instruction from lead Optometrist, coworkers and physicians
*Ability to communicate well with patients, coworkers and physicians
Pay Range
$16.85 - $25.59Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
