Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Bakersfield, CA. The Community Educator will be responsible for developing and delivering educational programs and workshops to inform community members about their legal rights and available resources. Day-to-day tasks include designing educational materials, conducting outreach initiatives, collaborating with community organizations, delivering presentations, and fostering relationships with local stakeholders. The Community Educator will play a vital role in increasing awareness and access to GBLA's programs and services within the community.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Community Education and Training to effectively develop and deliver legal rights-based programs.
- Strong Communication and Education skills to convey information clearly and engage diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated abilities in Community Outreach to build relationships with local organizations and reach underserved populations.
- Passion for social justice and a commitment to serving low-income and vulnerable community members.
- Proficiency in a second language, particularly one spoken in the service area, is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field is preferred.
