Important: This role is specifically designed for candidates with healthcare or medical marketing experience, particularly those who have worked directly with physician offices, specialty clinics, or in referral-based healthcare environments. Candidates without relevant medical or healthcare marketing experience are unlikely to be a fit for this position.
Essential Duties:
- Coverage area: Austin and surrounding areas
- Assists the practice manager with aggressive marketing — including in-person outreach to physician offices, specialists, and healthcare providers, scheduling meetings, building relationships, and educating them about pain medicine conditions, treatment options, and appropriate referral criteria
- Acts as a dedicated physician liaison, developing and maintaining strong, ongoing relationships with referring providers and their staff to increase referral volume and strengthen partnerships
- Regularly visits clinics, hospitals, and medical offices to represent the practice and ensure consistent visibility within the healthcare community
- Must market regularly and maintain and update our website, Facebook, and Instagram accounts with accurate, relevant, and compliant healthcare content
- The goal is to increase awareness of interventional pain management within the medical community, be a brand ambassador for Greater Austin Pain Center, and drive appropriate, high-quality patient referrals from providers
- Tracks outreach efforts, referral patterns, and marketing performance, and provides feedback to improve strategy and outcomes
- Must meet clearly outlined marketing expectations, including provider visit targets, relationship-building goals, and referral growth metrics, and be able to think critically to improve current processes and strengthen the marketing team
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Required: Prior experience in healthcare marketing, physician liaison work, pharmaceutical or medical device sales, or a similar medically focused outreach role
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical workflows, and referral processes preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with or calling on physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinic staff
- Experience with an EMR system and Google Workspace
- Professional LinkedIn profile, professional appearance appropriate for healthcare environments
- Excellent customer service-oriented attitude with the ability to represent the practice professionally and knowledgeably in clinical settings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to confidently discuss medical services with providers
- Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage a territory and maintain consistent outreach
- Excellent in developing and maintaining effective relationships with providers, staff, and the healthcare community
- Tech savviness
- Maturity, good judgment, and a proactive mindset; anticipate and preempt problems (rather than simply react to them)
