Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Paramedic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to pediatric patients, including those with special needs requiring procedural sedation for blood draws and therapeutic IVs. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and effective communication skills.
Essential Function:
- Assess patients' vital signs.
- Administer procedural sedation.
- Conduct venipuncture for blood draws and intravenous access.
- Administer IVs per pre-written protocols.
- Manage airways and provide respiratory support to patients experiencing distress.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient assessment and treatment.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in compliance with protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with advancements in emergency medicine.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Have a valid Paramedic license in the state of Georgia.
- Have a valid state driver’s license.
- Hold current Healthcare Provider level BLS, PALS, and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and techniques.
- Proven ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining composure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
