Job description:
Greater Amsterdam School District (GASD) currently seeks multiple, 10-month, Teacher Aides for various sites within the district (K-12).
Teacher Aides can be assigned or requested to complete the following items:
Keep a child from leaving a room; Escort student around the building; Keep data on specific behaviors; Keep student on task; Monitor student(s) in cafeteria, assemblies, playground, and bus arrival/departure; School bus monitor; Make copies for student/teacher(s); Deescalate student(s); Escort student during fire drill or other emergencies; Lift at least 30 lbs.; Accompany or bring students in wheelchairs to/from bus and other places in school; Additional duties as required for specific student or classroom.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a school setting is preferred, but not required.
Having fluency in English and Spanish is highly preferred, but not a requirement.
