General Description of Responsibilities

The Multimedia & Technology Coordinator supports GAAR’s communications, marketing, and events by creating engaging video content and providing professional audio/visual support. This role focuses on producing high-quality videos that highlight GAAR’s events, members, and programs, helping to tell the Association’s story and increase participation.


The position also expands GAAR’s digital reach by growing its YouTube channel and video library, ensuring optimized use of online platforms. In addition, the role provides technical A/V support for meetings and events and assists with building maintenance needs in collaboration with the Events & Facilities Coordinator.

This position also serves as an internal technology resource for the Association, assisting with the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of office workstations, software, and A/V systems. The role acts as the primary liaison with GAAR’s IT solutions provider to ensure staff technology needs are addressed and systems remain operational and secure.


Job Characteristics and Behaviors

This position requires creativity, technical expertise, and the ability to tell compelling stories through video. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple projects at once. They must also be able to troubleshoot A/V equipment during live events while maintaining a professional, service-oriented approach.

Because the role also supports office technology, the individual should be comfortable assisting staff with basic technical issues, coordinating with outside IT vendors, and maintaining technology systems that support day-to-day operations and events.


Specific Responsibilities

Videography & Content Creation

• Film, edit, and produce high-quality videos to support GAAR communications, education, marketing, and events.

• Create promotional videos to market and support rentals of the Event Center.

• Develop content that increases event participation, showcasing GAAR programs, education, and community impact.

• Produce event recap videos that highlight GAAR members, their involvement, and the fun, engaging atmosphere of GAAR events.

• Archive, organize, and manage video content for future use.

Digital Media & Video Platforms

• Expand GAAR’s YouTube channel and video library by creating original, engaging content.

• Optimize video titles, descriptions, and tags to maximize visibility and reach.

• Research and apply best practices for online video platforms to grow engagement and viewership.

• Track analytics to evaluate performance and recommend improvements.

A/V Support

• Provide professional A/V setup, operation, and troubleshooting for meetings, trainings, and events held at GAAR facilities and offsite locations.

• Operate cameras, microphones, projectors, sound systems, livestream equipment, and recording platforms.

• Coordinate and execute A/V setup for Association meetings, classes, conferences, and special events.

• Support staff, members, outside speakers, and renters with A/V needs to ensure seamless event execution.

• Maintain and organize A/V equipment inventory and ensure systems remain operational and ready for use.

Technology & IT Support

• Assist with the setup, configuration, and basic troubleshooting of staff workstations, including computers, monitors, printers, and standard office software.

• Serve as the primary point-of-contact between GAAR staff and the Association’s external IT solutions provider.

• Coordinate service requests, system maintenance, and hardware or software upgrades with the IT provider as needed.

• Support the setup and maintenance of office technology including conference room systems, presentation equipment, and shared devices.

• Assist with onboarding and offboarding technology setup for staff, including workstation preparation and system access coordination with IT providers.

• Help maintain asset inventory records of technology equipment including computers, A/V and media equipment, and related accessories.

• Support troubleshooting of network-connected devices such as printers, conference room systems, and streaming equipment before escalating to the IT provider when necessary.

Communications Support

• Collaborate with the Communications Director and Marketing & Communications Specialist to align video production with content calendars and campaigns.

• Contribute creative ideas to enhance messaging and member engagement through video storytelling.

Facility Support

• Assist with building maintenance needs in coordination with the Events & Program Coordinator, including troubleshooting and vendor support as needed.

• Help ensure A/V and presentation systems across GAAR facilities are maintained and functional.


Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• Degree or certification in videography, film, communications, information technology, or related field preferred.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in video production, A/V event support, or related technical role.

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) or equivalent tools.

• Strong technical skills in A/V setup, troubleshooting, and live streaming platforms.

• Working knowledge of office technology, computer hardware, and standard business software environments.

• Ability to coordinate effectively with third-party IT service providers.

• Knowledge of YouTube optimization, social media video trends, and digital storytelling best practices.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and storytelling skills.

• Ability to lift, move, and set up equipment, tables, and chairs (up to 40 lbs).

• Flexible schedule, with availability for occasional evening or weekend events.


Additional Considerations

• Must demonstrate initiative, reliability, and professionalism.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with Communications, Events, and administrative staff.

• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort assisting staff with basic technology needs.

• Passion for creating content that reflects the energy, professionalism, and community spirit of GAAR.
