What We’re Looking For
GWB is searching for a dedicated Purlin Line Manager to join our growing team. This is a new position that requires leadership to implement processes from the ground floor. It requires a high level of communication and interaction that will result in maximizing the capabilities of two complex purlin machines. This is a result oriented position that will require creativity and efficiency. Expect new processes to evolve and find ways to cut waste and overtime. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail oriented, and thrives in a hands-on, fast paced production environment. They take pride in precision and efficiency, ensuring quality output while maintaining safe work practices. A natural leader, they can guide a small team, communicate clearly, and keep production flowing smoothly even when challenges arise. Experience operating or troubleshooting roll-forming or similar machinery is a plus, as is a proactive mindset toward maintenance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
Provide Management Supervision for both the zee machine and cold form machine operations, including staffing, administrative inputs and quality outputs
Machine Operations
Create and maintain a system to ensure production is accurate and efficient
Ensure data entry is accurate and complete
Read and interpret blueprints and tape measurements to ensure precise production
Safely load and unload metal coils from delivery trucks using a forklift
Position and load coils onto a dual uncoiler to roll form purlin parts according to specified sizes and schedules
Use a cut-off wheel to trim parts and operate a mag drill to punch holes as needed
Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficiency and safety
Assist in ensuring the machines are maintained properly - perform daily inspections, proactively report worn parts, and help follow preventative maintenance schedules
Staffing
Lead and supervise a 6-8 person team, coordinating workflow based on the production schedule
Develop standard operating procedures for operating and training for both machines. Cross train both groups to operate both machines
Identify a Team Lead and mentor them
Administrative Inputs
Be the management liaison between manufacturing cold form production and the administrative teams including nesting, scheduling and inventory control
Maintain open communication with the administrators preparing schedules, printing drawings, and generating work orders
Utilize computer programs and RFsmart scanners for inventory tracking and production processes
Communicate inventory requirements to management for coil purchasing, and to the purchasing department for other materials\
Quality Outputs
Meet and exceed production metrics and expectations
Find ways to improve throughput by maximizing material usage, minimizing downtime, and avoiding overtime.
Practice quality control standards and minimize non-conforming production
Work with the Cold Form and Yard departments to ensure completeness in production runs and project shipper component parts lists
Other
Adhere to company safety policies and procedures
Follow all safety protocols including wearing PPE and required PPE at all times. Required PPE is defined as gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe boots. Additional PPE, such as hard hats, flame-resistant clothing, hearing protection, face shields, respirators, etc, may be required depending on the specific tasks being performed or the work area.

Qualifications & Experience
The ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check is required
3 years in a steel fabrication and manufacturing environment is a plus
Experience operating a forklift is required
Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use a tape measure accurately
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Mechanical aptitude with basic technical skills for operating and maintaining equipment
Familiarity with or willingness to learn computer and scanner operations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
Must be able to walk, stand, use hands to handle tools, reach with arms, kneel, stoop, crouch, and talk and hear in noisy environments
Must be able to regularly lift and move objects weighing up to 51 lbs independently and occasionally lift and move objects up to 100lbs with the assistance of team lifts.
The work environment is primarily indoors, and will, at times, be exposed to natural weather elements such as heat, cold, sunlight, darkness, wind, rain, lightning, snow, and dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Compensation and Benefits
$25.14 - $36.82 per hour, depending on experience
