Refrigeration Lead
Shift: 7Am-4PM
Hourly Rate: $25-$30
The Refrigeration lead will perform advanced maintenance procedures to all plant equipment, including AC/DC control circuitry, programmable logic controllers, microprocessor controls, power distribution systems, computer hardware, line inspections, and preventative maintenance procedures from a checklist, minor mechanical adjustments, and equipment/part replacement.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on Utility Equipment to increase overall effectiveness.
- Assist and maintain the company’s PSM/RMP programs
- Ensure refrigeration systems are operating properly through daily rounds, PMs, and repairs.
- Maintain mechanical rooms sump water chemistry.
- Complete required documentation and logs regarding equipment operation, run hours, temperatures and pressures associated with condenser, evaporators and compressors.
- Service, repair and rebuild valves and pumps.
- Monitor and document conditioned room temperatures.
- Monitor department emails and notify those on shift of active alarms or faults.
- Comply with all current and future Safety, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety Procedures.
- Comply and participate and maintain Process Safety Management Program.
- Coordinate work with outside contractors
- Help perform major and minor repairs on Utility Equipment
- Miscellaneous tasks and duties assigned
- Able to wear a full-face breathing respirator mask with or without reasonable accommodation
- Always maintain an orderly and sanitary work area
- Utilize computer maintenance systems (MaintainX)
- Perform maintenance procedures by use of simple tools of various trades, hand tools, and welding equipment
- Perform general building maintenance duties including miscellaneous plumbing, painting and repairs
- Ability to train and coach maintenance trainees and Maintenance Technicians
- Strictly adhere to all company and plant policies concerning safety, perform proper Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, use proper lifting techniques, and wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Adhere to company and plant polices related to GMP’s and assures compliance by all personnel within the department
- Perform basic pneumatic troubleshooting, including aggressive leak control, appropriate usage of compressed air versus low pressure
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Education or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience in utilities with an emphasis in HVAC/R, ammonia, Controls or Electrical.
- 2-4 years in NH3 with RETA CARO Certification - Ideal.
- Electrical or mechanical experience
- Must have ability to read and interpret company policies and procedures, safety rules, equipment operation and P&ID’s.
- Electrical knowledge of single and three phase systems
