Essential Functions
- Develop, organize, conduct and evaluate the Department of Training's Barehand Live Line Program.
- Document training, assess effectiveness and progress, report on progress, and make changes to training as needed.
- Teach approved trainings to employees in both classroom and field settings.
- Build successful relationships with a diverse group of GSWC employees as they work towards their barehand live line certifications.
- Demonstrate proper technique in performing each maneuver being taught
- Develop and maintain training manuals
- Conduct onsite evaluations of team member skillset and help address areas of needed improvement
- Provide real-life context to the theories and situations being taught
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
- Essential Functions of this position are to be performed at a company-designated office or field location
- Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards, if applicable
Qualifications
- Must be a certified Journeyman Lineman (minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Journeyman)
- Prior experience as a Transmission Journeyman Lineman, live line hot stick procedure experience required
- High school diploma
- Ability to travel locally/regionally up to 15% of the time
- Advanced knowledge of transmission line construction, advanced in barehand procedures, stringing and tensioning, and working around helicopter assisted operations
- Presentation skills, with ability to develop and mentor others
- Passion for training and developing others and representing the GSW brand with positivity and professionalism
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices at all times
- Ability to climb poles to demonstrate proper technique
- Ability to teach in a classroom lecture setting utilizing PowerPoint and other resources.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through GSWC training methods and practices
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Good problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary commensurate with experience, paid weekly.
- Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
