Prep Cook

What you’ll be doing to make an impact at GSRs: 

• Preparing cooking ingredients by washing, chopping, cutting, etc.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen by cleaning, sanitizing surfaces, staying organized, etc.
• Ensuring that all food and other items are stored/stocked properly.
• Complying with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
• Keeping updated on recipe changes and ensure proper execution of recipe procedures to maintain a high quality and consistent product.
• Receiving orders from suppliers, checking that they are of acceptable quality and quantity; and ensuring that they are properly stored in a timely fashion.
• Performing other kitchen duties as assigned by a supervisor.

What you’ll bring to the team:

• Manual ability to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils.
• A team player’s mentality with good communication skills and the ability to stay positive under pressure.
• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
• A minimum of 2 years of full-service restaurant cooking experience.
• Ability to speak and understand English.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to:
  1. Standing and walking during an entire shift, averaging to 8 hours per shift.  
  2. Reaching, bending, stooping, lifting, shaking, stirring, pouring, and carrying supplies up to 50 pounds in weight.
  3. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight on a regular basis.
