Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and outgoing individual to join our team as a Petitioner on Staten Island, NY. As a Petitioner, you will play a vital role in the democratic process by gathering signatures to help get a candidate on the ballot. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about civic engagement, enjoy interacting with people, and want to make a direct impact on local elections.
Duties:
- Collect petition signatures from registered voters in designated areas
- Engage with community members and educate them on the importance of ballot access
- Ensure all signatures meet legal requirements for validity
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable speaking with strangers and explaining petition requirements
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods while working outdoors
- Bilingual (English & Spanish preferred but not required)
Qualifications:
- Must be a registered Democrat in New York
