Job Details:

Provides overall leadership for the Diagnostic Imaging across all campuses. Understands and manages the overall operations of each work unit within Diagnostic Imaging. Has oversight of staffing, equipment acquisition and maintenance, departmental policies and procedures. Works with the medical director(s) of Diagnostic Imaging and Cancer Care to assure patient access to high quality imaging and radiation oncology services, as ordered and in a timely manner.


Job Description:

What you will do

  • Administrative oversight of all assigned staff
  • Oversight of hiring and staff schedules to provide adequate manpower in all areas of the department
  • Completes performance evaluations and performance management memo’s in a timely manner
  • Oversees capital and operating budgets, supplies, and equipment acquisition and maintenance
  • Develops and updates policies and procedures for the department
  • Liaison between Radiologists, Healthcare Providers, Administration and staff
  • Participate in hospital committees as requested


Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) BS Degree or higher in Healthcare Administration or Radiological Sciences Required
  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) In relatable Healthcare Field Preferred
  • 1-3 years Previous experience in a leadership position Preferred
  • 1-3 years Health care experience within the last five years Preferred
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Teaching others how to do something.

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (United States of America) Required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support & First Aid - American Heart Association within 60 Days Required
  • Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services within 180 Days Required
  • Child Abuse Iowa Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services within 180 Days Preferred
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (United States of America) Preferred



Qualifications:

Permit to practice from the IHHA is required within 60 days of hire.


Preference for an active and current license in one of the imaging disciplines directly managed, such as Radiology, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, or related fields.
