The Sioux Falls Zoo and Aquarium (Great Plains Zoo and Butterfly House & Aquarium) invites veterinarians to join our on-call relief vet rotation. With over 200 species from leopards to jellyfish, this position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact within our community while caring for diverse species.

Expectations
- As a relief veterinarian, you will be available over the assigned weekend for any veterinary care needed for the Zoo or Butterfly House.
- Able to provide acute care for sick or injured animals.
- Be within 50 miles of the Zoo campus when on call and able to report to the zoo within 60 minutes.
- Faithfully adhere to the ethical principles of the veterinary profession.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), or equivalent degree from an AVMA accredited college of veterinary medicine or equivalent.
- Possess a license to practice veterinary medicine in the United States.
- Possess a State of South Dakota Veterinary license.
- Possess a Federal DEA license and the controlled substances registration needed in South Dakota.
