JOB SUMMARY 

This position will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals to provide high-quality therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families within a clinical setting at Oyate Health Center (OHC). Additionally, this position will demonstrate expertise in therapeutic techniques, provide leadership for junior therapists, and contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive and effective therapeutic environment.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients to diagnose and develop treatment plans.  

• Provide evidence-based individual, group and family therapy services.  

• Ensure that intra-clinic complaints, conflicts and therapeutic issues are effectively resolved within clinic setting. 

• Implement therapeutic interventions tailored to each client's unique needs. 

• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, adhering to all relevant legal and ethical standards. 

• Provide guidance to therapists and interns. Offering support and feedback to help enhance their therapeutic skills.  

• Facilitate regular clinical supervision meetings.  

• Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with relatives. 

• Monitor and evaluate relatives' progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.  

• Ensure relatives receive the highest quality of care and support their mental health goals. 

• Prepare and submit required report to meet regulatory and accreditation standards. 

• Stay current with developments in the field of mental health and therapy.  

• Pursue ongoing education and training to enhance therapeutic skills. 

• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for relatives. 

• Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders. 

• Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards established by professional organizations and licensing boards. 

• Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of relatives' information.                                                                                                  

REQUIREMENTS    

• Participates in Core Connections training and applies GPTLHB Core Connections concepts and practices in their work.

• Familiarity and/or experience working with American Indian populations and respect for and knowledge of traditional, cultural, and spiritual practices of diverse American Indian communities, as well as an ability to work with other culturally and ethnically diverse populations.

• Proficiency with computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other Internet technologies.

• Valid driver’s license must be kept current, and certificates, credentials or licenses must be kept current and consistent with regulations required by applicable federal, state and/or grant regulations as applies to position.     

• Work in a cooperative and professional manner with OHC and GPTLHB staff. 

• Treat Great Plains tribes and collaborators with dignity and respect. 

• Utilize effective verbal and written communication skills. 

• Advance personal educational development by attending training sessions and seminars as appropriate. 

• Exemplify excellent customer service with tribal stakeholders, health board colleagues, program partners, service recipients, visitors and guests.  

• Foster a work environment of wellness, courtesy, friendliness, helpfulness, and respect.  

• Consistently demonstrate respect for and acceptance of differing capabilities, cultures, gender, age, sexual orientation and/or personalities.   

• Maintain and ensure organizational privacy and confidentiality.  

• Promote an alcohol, tobacco and drug-free lifestyle. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

Education/Relevant Experience:  Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field and three (3) years of relevant experience, the experience required for supervisory/management positions will be inclusive of at least three (3) years of supervisory/management experience. 

Licensed as CSW-PIP with a minimum of two years experience. 

This is a senior professional and/or management position that requires post-secondary education and/or considerable experience or a clinical degree requiring a clinical rotation/internship. Individuals must have applicable education and/or experience applying principles, concepts, and methodology of a professional or administrative occupation to permit the independent performance of recurring assignments or carrying out difficult/complex assignments, operations, and procedures; or applicable education and/or experience applying a wide range of technical methods, principles, and practices similar to a narrow area of a professional field such as the design and planning of difficult, but well-precedented projects.

Compliance with our Employee Health Procedure is a condition of employment.  You are required to agree that you will comply with all job-related employee health screening and immunizations prior to your first day of employment.  Jobs require that you have documentation that you have completed the following immunizations prior to your first day of employment: MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap (Tetanus - Diphtheria - Pertussis), and COVID-19 vaccination is required.                                                                                                                              

This position is funded by grants and is contingent upon the availability of grant funding.
