Job purpose
The Teller is responsible for performing daily transactions and communicating with different types of customers. This position is responsible for processing all transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position is a leader of Great Plains State Bank and plays a primary role in achieving our customer satisfaction and growth in surrounding communities.
Duties and responsibilities
- Accurately process all account transactions: deposits and withdrawals, cash checks, account transfers, accepting loan payment, selling cashier checks, and recording night and mail deposits.
- Provide customer service for debit cards, online banking, and mobile banking.
- Assist customers with all inquiries (in person, phone, and email) and direct to appropriate staff.
- Maintain knowledge of products and fees. Cross-sell bank products by determining customer’s deposit and lending needs and directing customer to appropriate bank personnel.
- Prepare and review deposit account reports.
- Order currency and coin for branch as needed.
- Maintain ATM and replenish as needed.
- Maintain/responsible for cash drawer and follow proper balancing procedures.
- Assist balancing of cash vault and ATM under dual control.
- Complete compliance training. Comply with all bank laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
- Treat all customers and transactions with complete confidentiality.
- Comply with internal controls, IT, and security procedures.
- Assist with new accounts when available.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
