Janitor – Salina, KS
Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Janitor to join the team at the Salina facility to assist with keeping the shop floors clean, wipe down weld curtains and walls, clean industrial surfaces, parking lots, etc.
This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus occasional overtime as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive sweeper in plants throughout the Salina campus to keep floor clean of debris.
- Safely operate forklift to move supplies and materials for cleaning.
- Safely use scissor lift to clean weld curtains and walls from floor to ceiling.
- Alert maintenance technicians to maintenance and repairs required throughout the plants.
- Observe equipment to verify efficient and safe operation.
- Safely operate tractors, skid steers and other equipment to clear parking lots of snow and ice.
- Drive sweeper to clean parking lots.
- Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience safely operating a variety of different types of equipment including, but not limited to, forklifts, scissor-lifts, sweepers, tractors, skid steers, etc.
- Mechanically inclined with basic maintenance skills
- Forklift license or ability to obtain one
- Must be able to work inside or outside, in all types of weather
- Must be able to work independently, stay on task and take initiative to complete tasks efficiently and on time.
