Weld Robot Operator – 1st Shift – Salina, KS

Great Plains Manufacturing currently has an opening for a 1st Shift Weld Robot Operator at our CE Facility in Salina, KS.

This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with overtime on Fridays as required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Set up, ensure accurate placement of parts, and operate robot weld cells.
Read job specifications to determine parts and load sequence.
Visually inspect parts to be loaded to verify they are of good quality.
Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction and report as needed.
Visually inspect parts quality to determine accuracy of machine operation.
Load finished parts on to cart for transportation to next process.
Perform daily equipment inspections.
Assist fellow operators when needed.
Observes weld robot operation to detect defects or equipment malfunction and reports as directed.
Monitor weld robot tasks and recommends quality improvement initiatives to the welding manager.
Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment.
Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Open to Lean Manufacturing and implementation of change
Basic mechanical aptitude.
Ability to verify conformance of work piece to visual specifications.
Dedication to ensure products meet or exceed specifications as part of our quality program.
Must be flexible to be crossed trained in different areas of the shop as required.
