What You’ll Do
As a Field Service Technician, you will travel to customer locations to diagnose, service, and repair agricultural and construction equipment. Your work will ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently, helping customers stay productive and confident in their equipment. You must be willing to work overtime and be on call as needed, typically in a bi-weekly rotation with the other Field Service Technicians.
Please Note: To ensure a successful transition into this role, all Field Service Technician new hires will complete a 90-day probationary period working on-site at our dealership. This period serves as an evaluation of technical competency and allows you to become familiar with our standards and equipment before transitioning to independent work out in the field.
Your daily work may include:
- Conducting equipment inspections and troubleshooting to identify issues or malfunctions in agricultural machinery such as tractors, combines, harvesters, seeders, and sprayers.
- Repairing and maintaining agricultural equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, to ensure proper functionality and prevent breakdowns.
- Conducting routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and calibrations to keep agricultural machinery in optimal condition.
- Diagnosing and repairing complex issues with agricultural and construction machinery, including engine, transmission, and hydraulic system repairs.
- Ability to write a work order in a clear and concise manner for a customer to understand what work was completed and why when billed out by manager
- Collaborating with customers to understand their needs, provide technical support, and recommend solutions for optimizing equipment performance.
- Train customers on the operation, maintenance, and safety protocols of agricultural machinery and technology.
- Identify parts and labor times to complete a repair on a quote the manager will present to the customer.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest agricultural machinery, technology, and industry trends through ongoing training and professional development.
- Attend local shows and events representing Great Plains Kubota in a professional manner while talking to customers about the benefits of owning a Kubota product and the service Great Plains Kubota provides
Required Experience:
- 3 or more years of experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment (agricultural equipment preferred)
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage field service calls
- Basic computer skills for work orders, scheduling, and training
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record (CDL preferred)
- Ability to provide and maintain personal tools
