Job Description:

The Secretary II is responsible for performing secretarial duties utilizing specific knowledge of medical terminology, hospital and clinic daily functions. Duties include receptionist, scheduling appointments and billing patients.

Essential Functions Demonstrates safe and competent use of equipment and software to carry out duties. Includes; accurate entry of patient information and billing type into software systems. Prioritize workflow by medical necessity and priority. Answers and responds to telephone inquiries. Performs appropriate and timely billing functions for procedures and consultations. Performs billing functions including designation of billing type, billing information for 3rd party payers. Maintains a thorough understanding of the Patient Scheduling application in the Hospital Information system. Schedules patient appointment according to patient, doctor, needs and hospital availability.
