Position Purpose
The Accounting Associate will assist with the general accounting and inventory control functions of the organization, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, expense management and inventory control.
Core Accountabilities and Essential Duties
Assist the Accounting and Finance Team by performing accounts payables, account receivables, tracking, and auditing duties:
- Post agency accounts and processes accounts receivables in inventory software in a timely and accurate manner
- Accept payments, in the form of checks or money orders, from agencies
- Prepare and process bank deposits for both donations and agency payments
- Operate a digital scanner to scan deposits to the bank using the bank’s online software
- Assist with agency phone calls and inquiries related to receivables
- Assist with bank reconciliation and other duties related to month-end close
- Assist with various internal and external audits
- Participate in food bank departmental and organizational meetings as needed
- Assist with reception and office coordination as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Assist the Accounting Team and Inventory Control Manager by working in the following areas:
- Agency billing activities
- Receipts for Retail Rescue and Kitchen Coalition (all locations)
- Track missing order items
- Provide and track spoilage, produce and backpack counts
- Document product limit entries
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education, Experience and Requirements
Successful candidates for this position should hold a High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); At least one year of related experience in an accounting position which includes payables, receivables, general ledger entry and inventory control. Experience with Microsoft Business Central preferred. Valid driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility strongly desired.

Hourly Rate: $20.00-$25.00 per hour DOE
