We are looking for an energetic, hands-on Floor Supervisor who is passionate about hospitality, exceptional guest service, and leading by example. In this role, you will partner closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager to ensure seamless front-of-house operations, deliver outstanding dining experiences, and support a high-performing team. As a secondary key holder, you will assist with opening and closing procedures and serve as Manager-on-Duty when needed. Your visible leadership on the floor, ability to coach and support staff, resolve guest concerns, and uphold the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and safety will be essential to creating a welcoming, efficient, and memorable experience for every guest. Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Serve as a secondary key holder, assuming opening and closing responsibilities as assigned. 
  • Act as Manager-on-Duty when the General Manager and Operations Manager are not actively present in the dining room, while providing ongoing leadership and support to the team to ensure exemplary guest service. 
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the operation to support staff, oversee daily activities, and ensure smooth service flow. 

Front-of-House & Back-of-House Coordination

  • Coordinate communication between Front-of-House (FOH) and Back-of-House (BOH) teams to ensure efficient operations and prompt resolution of service issues. 
  • Foster collaboration between departments to support a seamless dining experience for guests. 

Inventory & Operational Support

  • Monitor operational supply levels and communicate Front-of-House and Back-of-House inventory needs to the General Manager and Operations Manager. 
  • Support daily operational needs to ensure the restaurant is adequately stocked and prepared for service. 

Training & Team Development

  • Support the implementation of operational policies, service standards, and employee training programs. 
  • Assist with onboarding and training new Front-of-House employees, ensuring compliance with company standards, procedures, and guest service expectations. 

Guest Experience & Customer Service

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting with guest inquiries, concerns, and service recovery in a professional and timely manner. 
  • Support the team in creating a welcoming, hospitable, and memorable dining experience for every guest. 

Quality, Safety & Facility Standards

  • Monitor the dining room and service areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all company, health, and safety standards. 
  • Ensure service areas remain guest-ready throughout each shift by maintaining high standards of presentation and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in restaurant operations, hospitality management, or front-of-house supervision preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience coaching, training, and motivating employees while maintaining high service standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with scheduling and workforce management platforms such as Schedulefly and Nowsta.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, inventory control, labor management, and cost-conscious operational practices.
  • Working knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) regulations, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest service while fostering a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, adapt to changing business needs, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable, punctual, flexible, and able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and adjust work schedules based on operational needs.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and moving continuously for extended periods of up to eight (8) hours per shift.

Work Schedule

Wednesday–Saturday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM | Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Days Off: Monday & Tuesday

Location: Clara Restaurant, located inside the New-York Historical Society, New York, NY.

Schedule: Full Time, On-Site

Base salary: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on qualifications and relevant experience.
