The Arch at 550 Madison Avenue is a private club level and amenity space serving this prestige office building’s corporate clients. It is the heart of the building and a place where fine quality hospitality meet comfort and contemporary design. The space encompasses a 40 seat café, an espresso and wine bar, and nine separate private dining and conference rooms, including a library, screening room, billiards room and chef’s table with dedicated kitchen. 550 Madison Avenue, located in Midtown Manhattan, is NYC’s only landmarked building to achieve LEED Platinum Certification, a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement.

We are seeking a Café Attendant to join our team and deliver exceptional service to every guest. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, strong customer service skills, and barista experience. This role includes preparing and serving beverages and light food items, maintaining a clean and welcoming café environment, handling transactions accurately, and ensuring a positive guest experience. The Café Attendant will also support daily operations by restocking supplies, following health and safety guidelines, and working collaboratively with the team to uphold the highest standards of service and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service while performing duties as a counter service attendant, cashier, and barista.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting café environment throughout the shift.
• Execute opening and closing procedures efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure compliance with NYC Department of Health regulations and company standards.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a customer-facing role.
• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on barista experience.
• Genuine enthusiasm for food, beverages, and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly describe and recommend menu items.
• Demonstrates attentiveness to guest needs and takes pride in delivering outstanding service.
• Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor, paired with a warm and welcoming personality.
• Familiarity with restaurant POS systems and handling cash or credit card transactions is a plus.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to teamwork and collaboration.
• Positive, energetic attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, reach, and stand for up to 8 hours.
• NYC Food Handler’s Certificate preferred.

Schedule: Full Time, On-Site

Base salary: $23.00/hour
