Commercial Snow Plow Operator – Great Outdoors
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $38.00 per hour
Location: Washtenaw County
Welcome to the Great Outdoors! We are seeking experienced Commercial Snow Plow Operators to join our winter operations team. This role is essential in providing reliable and high-quality snow and ice management services for our commercial clients throughout Washtenaw County. Responsibilities:
Safely operate a snow plow truck to clear commercial parking lots, roadways, and access lanes.
Transport equipment using trucks and trailers as needed.
Apply bulk salt and de-icing materials according to site requirements.
Assist with loading materials and prepping equipment before each event.
Perform routine checks on plow equipment to ensure proper function (lights, hydraulics, blades, etc.).
Maintain clean and organized equipment, reporting any repairs or issues immediately.
Follow assigned routes using our electronic tracking and route management systems.
Communicate with dispatch and managers during storm events for updates or adjustments.
Provide support to sidewalk crews or additional plowing areas when required.
Qualifications:
Valid Michigan Driver’s License required; Chauffeur’s License preferred.
Prior experience operating a commercial plow truck is required.
Strong understanding of commercial snow plowing techniques, safety standards, and equipment operation.
Reliable, flexible, and able to respond quickly to snow events (including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays).
Ability to work outdoors in harsh winter weather conditions.
Professional communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Proper winter gear (coat, boots, gloves, hat) required.
