Mechanic Job Description
A mechanic (also called an automotive technician) inspects, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs vehicles and mechanical systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Working with trucks, trailers, skids loaders, excavators, dozers, with a wide range of two cycle knowledge such as weed ships, blowers, chain saws, sod cutters, and hedge trimmers.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles and identify mechanical or electrical problems.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake servicing.
- Diagnose issues using diagnostic equipment and testing tools.
- Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Test vehicles after repairs to verify proper operation.
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
- Follow safety procedures and industry regulations.
