LOAN CLERK/COORDINATOR
PAY RANGE: $18.00/HR TO $22.75/HR D.O.E. plus possible incentives.
CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT - FULL-TIME

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB: Administrative and technical support to the Loan Department. Be the liaison for the Loan Department to coworkers and members. This position will commonly act as the first communication with members and must be able to quickly and efficiently solve member issues, prioritize duties and direct members to the best resource for resolution. - DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitates all inquiries from members and coworkers to appropriate parties.
- Must have patience and understanding during consultation with a member regarding Loan applications and details of all regulations and informative information.
- Prepares loan and support documents for imaging and does some imaging.
- Files loan and support documents in member file folders and cleans up closed files.
- Reviews pending applications and follows up appropriately.
- Handles payoff inquiries and requests.
- Perfects and releases titled collateral fittingly, using both paper and electronic means.
- Provide back up for indirect (Credit Union Direct Lending) loan funding.
- Make post-funding indirect (CUDL) calls.
- Process and mail lending notices/letters such as: Indirect (CUDL) adverse action notices, HELP loan renewal letters, loan coupons, unpaid interest letters, etc.
- Perform file maintenance within core system to process miscellaneous requests such as due date changes, maturity date changes/corrections, revolving limit restrictions, etc.
- Proactively offer CU products and services to members and potential members to achieve department and individual sales and service goals.
- Work together with sales, service and support staff to create a collaborative work environment and create a positive member experience.
- Typical work week is 9am – 6pm Monday thru Friday with at least two Saturday 1/2 days per month.
- Qualify for registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS).
- Comply with all CU regulatory and compliance policies including BSA, AML, OFAC and MIP processes and procedures.
- Independently review and complete assigned work from weekly and monthly reports including: Closed Loans, title work, audit, imaging and others as assigned.
- Proactively work with loan department staff to ensure timely, accurate and friendly communication about loan requests.
- Assist members with GAP claim filing and insurance payoffs.
- Works to ensure the loan department maintains high functioning efficiency.
2. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High school diploma or equivalent or working toward diploma. Effective communication skills and the ability to work successfully with the public and coworkers, in a frequently stressful environment. Experience in lending, sales, vehicle titling and/or customer service, is not necessary. Employees of GNWFCU must possess mobility and stamina to work in a standard office setting. Employee must be able to use standard office equipment. At times, some employees may have to lift items up to 30 pounds. Part of the job requirements may include the need to stand or sit for long periods of time. Some employees may need the ability to raise arms above their head. Employees should have adequate hearing and speech to communicate with our members and/or staff on the phone, in person or through the drive-thru speaker systems.
