Position: Food Service Worker - 6 Hours/Day
Location: Great Mills High School
Salary: The salary for this position will be based on the EASMC-ESP ten-month six-hour food service employees salary schedule – Range 3. ($19,118 - $28,922)

NATURE OF WORK:
Performs a variety of tasks related to food production and food service in a fast-paced environment under the direction of the food service manager. The work requires a substantial amount of physical dexterity, can be repetitive, and requires prolonged standing. Food Service Workers are provided on the job training and are expected to become proficient in accomplishing required duties during a six-month probationary period.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares bulk quantities of food items in accordance with established recipes
- Sets up serving lines and serves food items on the line
- Operates a computerized point-of-sale system
- Operates a dishwasher
- Washes pots and pans in a three-compartmented sink
- Cleans and sanitize food service equipment and associated spaces
- Maintains high quality food preparation and the highest caliber of customer service
- Works effectively with others as part of a team
- Coordinates with other school staff in support of the recycling program
- Participates in promotions of new food items and nutrition education activities
- Fills in for the manager – after proficiency is demonstrated
- Performs other related and non-related job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Must be physically able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferred:
- Experience in a commercial food service environment
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
Full-time ten-month position.
