What are the responsibilities and job description for the Window Fabricator position at Great Land Window?
Window and Door fabricator
We manufacture custom windows and doors on Van Horn Road and are looking for more people to join our group. Our products are cutting-edge for arctic applications and we send them all over Alaska and into Canada, Greenland, and Antarctica. We are primarily looking for people to fabricate windows and doors. However, in addition to manufacturing, we have to invent many of our features and methods and build our own manufacturing tools and fixtures so there are opportunities there as well. To support this we have an internal private machine shop that includes 3D printers, waterjet, CNC mill, CNC Lathe, punches, welders, saws, presses, routers, sanders, and many other tools. At the end of every day you'll be able to look around with pride at the excellent windows and doors you helped build.
This job requires the operation of hand drills, saws, and fastening tools. 99% of our work is inside our heated shop. No direct window building experience is necessary but prior experience using hand tools will be helpful. Proficiency with reading measuring tapes is also desired. Must be friendly and reliable as well as demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
We’re mainly looking for full-time employees. However, we also welcome UAF students and can typically schedule hours around classes during the school year.
