What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Technician (Mechanical) position at Great Lakes Technologies?
Great Lakes Technologies (GLT) is hiring an Automation Technician (Mechanical) with a minimum of three (3) years of experience. The employee in this position needs to be proficient at reading blueprints and mechanical assembly of various types of equipment. This equipment is typically high-end automation equipment where attention to detail is critical. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Hours on the job site are Monday through Thursday 6:00am-4:00pm with Friday/Saturday overtime (as required).
Responsibilities:
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to company safety rules and regulations.
- Effectively read blueprints and customer specifications.
- Assembly of products that requires the use of hand tools.
- Lift and/or turn product using the forklift and/or crane.
- Approve and document all work for quality and completeness before moving on to the next operation.
- Maintain a well-organized and clean work environment.
Skills:
- Minimum three years assembly experience.
- Proven measurement and mathematical skills.
Safety Equipment Required:
- Safety eyeglasses while working on the manufacturing floor.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand- Must be able to stand in a stationary position 50% of the day.
- Kneel, crouch, or bending - Must be flexible in movement 100% of the day.
- Carry weight, lift- Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently to move material.
- Climb- Occasionally climb a ladder to weld equipment six feet and above.
