Yard Staff - Yard Operations

Great Lakes Stone Supply, Inc. is seeking a dynamic employee to work in our Landscaping and Masonry supply yard. The right candidate will possess the skills to perform a variety of job functions both in and outdoors. This is a yard position with duties including unloading trucks, pulling/loading orders, yard/warehouse oginization/stocking, loading customer vehicles, etc. Position may also include delivering items in pickup truck, and candidates with CDL are encouraged to apply and would include delivery with single unit flatbed and dumptrucks. We are growing fast so there is opportunity for advancement.

Duties:

• Operate yard equipment such as forklifts, skidsteer, snow removal equipment, etc.
• Transport materials and products within the warehouse or distribution center
• Load and unload trailers, containers, and customer vehicles/trailers
• Build and organize pallets or skids for shipping and receiving purposes
• Utilize a warehouse management system to track inventory and locate items
• Operate stationary & hand tools
• Potential for building and grounds maintenance for the right candidate
• Follow safety protocols and adhere to OSHA regulations

Skills:

• Experience operating yard trucks and other warehouse equipment
• Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on equipment
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes
• Ability to load and unload materials safely and efficiently
• Proficiency in using a warehouse management system to track inventory
• Clean driving record is required. DOT Medical card is preferred
• Commercial drivers license would be a plus and would effect pay scale
