Summary
Long-term “part-time temporary” Custodian position.
Providing custodial services to ensure an attractive, sanitary, and safe environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors; performing a variety of cleaning operations; and assisting in preparing and maintaining facilities for classroom activities and campus events. Ensuring the campus’ common areas, offices, classrooms, and grounds cleanliness is maintained. Ability to professionally interact with students, faculty, staff and visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to work evenings (4) hour shifts starting at 4 pm or 5 pm working (2) nights per week to start. Additional hours may be available during late summer into early fall.
- Perform general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies as needed.
- Clean microwaves and refrigerators located in several areas throughout the building-refrigerators must be cleaned out once per week.
- Empty trash receptacles, dispose of trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bag trash for proper disposal.
- Clean classrooms/offices-ensuring doors are locked after cleaning each area.
- Must meet all safety requirements
- Must maintain regular attendance and work assigned schedule.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills: MS Office products (Email, Teams).
- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
- Experience using cleaning chemicals and equipment, including vacuum cleaners, mops and floor buffers.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and perform work based off written and verbal instructions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Ability to understand verbal instructions, and written instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and to use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
- Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
Preferred Experience:
- 2 years of experience in same or similar job
