Siemens PLC Programmer – Automotive Manufacturing
We are seeking a highly skilled Siemens PLC Programmer with proven experience in automotive manufacturing environments aligned with Ford standards. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Siemens S7, TIA Portal, and HMI development, along with a strong foundation in controls engineering and industrial automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, program, and troubleshoot Siemens PLC systems, including S7-1200, S7-1500, and TIA Portal projects.
- Develop and optimize HMI (Human-Machine Interface) solutions to support efficient production processes.
- Ensure all automation systems meet Ford Fast Quality (FFQ) standards and adhere to required documentation protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including controls engineers, robotics technicians, and maintenance personnel, to maintain system performance.
- Conduct I/O checks, debugging, and system validation on production lines.
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and production ramp-up phases.
- Drive continuous improvement in system performance, reliability, and cycle time using lean manufacturing and error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) strategies.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience with Siemens PLC programming, including S7, TIA Portal, and HMI configuration.
- Background in the automotive industry, ideally within a Ford manufacturing plant.
- Strong knowledge of Ford Fast Quality standards, including compliance procedures and technical documentation.
- Experience with industrial automation, robot integration, and conveyor systems.
- Ability to read and create electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within team-based environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs or other PLC platforms.
- Knowledge of Poka-Yoke systems, error-proofing techniques, and preventive maintenance practices.
