Job Overview
Ohio Mulch is seeking a hardworking, dependable General Laborer / Equipment Operator Trainee to join our mulch production team at our Columbus mulch production facility on Universal Road. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is willing to learn new skills, and wants to grow into operating heavy equipment.
Experience operating a forklift, skid steer, or similar equipment is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals. We provide hands-on training for skid steers, front loaders, and other equipment used in our production operations.

What You'll Do
- Perform general labor duties in a mulch production environment
- Assist with mulch and soil production activities
- Operate forklifts and skid steers (training available)
- Learn to operate front loaders and other heavy equipment
- Load, unload, move, and stack materials safely
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow safety procedures and company policies
- Work as part of a team to meet production goals
QualificationsPreferred:
- Previous experience operating a forklift, skid steer, or similar equipment
- Experience in manufacturing, landscaping, construction, warehouse, or outdoor labor
Required:
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn new equipment and skills
- Ability to work overtime as needed
Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are preferred.

Schedule
- Full-time
- Day shift
- Overtime available, especially during peak production seasons (typically 60 hours per week)
