Description:
Great Lakes Environmental Services is seeking a dependable, hardworking PAINTER to join our field team. This position involves commercial painting and coating work at a variety of project locations with the primary being school buildings. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, shows up reliably and works well with others. On larger projects, this candidate would lead a small crew.
Pay for this position ranges from $23-$30/hr depending on experience. This position follows closely with the school schedule with more hours worked during off periods and can include evenings and weekend hours.
Responsibilities:
- Work independently to ensure timely completion of painting projects.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning sanding, caulking, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion and durability.
- Execute a wide range of painting techniques including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting and structural coating applications.
- Manage construction site safety protocols by enforcing and following safety regulations, utilizing respiratory protection equipment when needed and ensuring proper use of hand tools and power tools.
Skills:
- Painting prep work including plaster repair.
- Skilled in the use of ladders, scaffolding, hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers, brushes, rollers and other relevant equipment.
- Must be able to lift over 50#
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams while maintaining safety standards
