- Pick up mail from the U.S. Postal Office.
- Process and handle all incoming and outgoing mail, including overnight packages, ensuring proper routing and within established time limits. Must maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information.
- Process incoming checks for Accounts Payable Department.
- Sort out unsolicited mail and make appropriate contacts to discontinue mailings.
- Maintain appearance of mailroom.
- Deliver incoming mail to each department, person, or pre-established drop area.
Marginal Job Duties
- Fills in and/or backs up other mailroom staff or other staff as needed and qualified.
- May assist with errands as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Education: Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Licensure: N/A
- Experience: Six months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills: Able to operate a postage meter. Typing, filing, computer, telephone etiquette and answering skills. Detail oriented. Critical thinking skills essential. Strong organizational skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Able to communicate effectively with, and relate to, a diverse population in a professional and courteous manner. Able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. Willingness to interact in a team environment.
- Physical Effort: Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and or twist while holding up to 50 lbs. often.
- Hours of Work: Full-Time
- Travel: Generally not a requirement of this job. If necessary, mileage and travel reimbursement according to GLBHC travel policy.
