What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Manufacturing Intralogistics Lead position at Great Kitchens Food Manufacturing?
At 2:00 pm in our Romeoville, IL facility, you kick off the second shift by reviewing the final production schedule and confirming that release requests are placed for materials needed both today (per the Supply & Demand Coordinator) and tomorrow (per the Materials Counter). You walk the warehouse to ensure equipment is operating safely, validate a smooth shift changeover with an operational summary, and assign work hours based on inbound, outbound, transfer, and production demands—keeping downtime and carrier detention to a minimum.
As orders flow, you coordinate with customers and carriers to fine-tune dock schedules, verify BOLs against receiving reports from outside cold storage, and investigate any discrepancies. You coach new team members on BRC and GMP, confirm forklift training completion, and uphold SOPs, attendance, and safety policies. Before 10:30 pm, you reconcile inventory quantities used on daily purchase orders against counts from the Inventory Specialist, submit attendance records to payroll and the temporary agency when the Shift Manager is away, and hand off a clear shift summary.
