Great Harvest Bread Co. Charlottesville is looking for a friendly, dependable, and team-oriented Front-of-House Team Member to join our bakery and café team. This role focuses on creating a welcoming guest experience while also cross-training in Back-of-House bakery and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Front of House

• Welcome guests with a positive, friendly attitude
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Prepare and serve sandwiches, salads, soups, beverages, and bakery items
• Operate the point-of-sale system and process payments
• Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and product availability
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked dining and service area
• Package bread, baked goods, and customer orders
• Provide excellent customer service during busy periods
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and company standards

Back of House Cross-Training

• Assist with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks
• Learn bakery production, including mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking bread
• Help prepare ingredients and assemble menu items
• Wash dishes, clean equipment, and maintain a sanitary work environment
• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Support the team wherever needed to keep daily operations running smoothly

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years to operate kitchen equipment
• Previous restaurant, café, bakery, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required
• Friendly, dependable, and willing to learn
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food-safety procedures
• Must work some Saturdays and Sundays, closed on major holidays

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 35.0 per week
