Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Landscape Maintenance Worker to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Perform lawn care activities including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and weed control to maintain healthy and attractive turf.
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as pruning, trimming trees and shrubs, planting flowers, mulching, and installing landscape features.
- Operate hand tools (e.g., shovels, rakes, pruners) and power tools (e.g., trimmers, blowers, chainsaws) safely and efficiently.
- Use heavy machinery such as excavators or skid steers for site preparation or hardscape installation when required.
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and performing repairs to ensure proper watering schedules.
- Assist with snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for pedestrians and vehicles.
- Support construction projects involving hardscape features like patios or walkways by preparing sites and installing materials with precision.
- Conduct routine inspections of landscapes to identify issues related to horticulture health or safety hazards, addressing them promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience operating landscaping equipment and hand tools effectively.
- Knowledge of lawn care practices, landscape maintenance techniques, horticulture principles, and gardening best practices.
- Familiarity with landscaping construction processes including hardscape installation and tree care procedures.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently; experience with excavators or other heavy machinery is a plus.
- Strong understanding of irrigation systems maintenance and snow plowing operations during winter seasons.
- Prior experience in landscaping or groundskeeping is preferred; relevant certifications in horticulture or landscape maintenance are advantageous.
- Excellent physical stamina with the ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail.
