What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Resource Ambassador position at Great Falls Business Improvement District?
POSITION
The Great Falls Business Improvement District (BID) is responsible for the beautification efforts of downtown, working to make downtown beautiful, safer, and friendlier. The Community Resource Ambassador must be able to work well independently and in a team environment, follow all policies of the BID and be punctual in performance. The Resource Ambassador interacts directly with residents, business members, and visitors. The Resource Ambassador is an integral part of helping to improve the perception and wellbeing of Downtown Great Falls, ensuring that the image is a positive one.
REPORTING
The BID Community Resource Ambassador reports directly to the Executive Director at the BID Office and works cooperatively with other BID Staff.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Ø Follow all regulations and policies of the Great Falls BID;
Ø Provide the public with directions, general assistance or referrals and assistance regarding safety concerns and issues;
Ø Perform regular “Clean Street Team” duties, such as clean and safe BID boundary clean up, walk-abouts to observe/identify areas of concern, vehicle and/or property audits;
Ø Remove posters and/or advertising from light poles or traffic signal boxes;
Ø Attend and promote various downtown events and other special events, as needed;
Ø Document and report graffiti, including removal in some areas;
Ø Notify the proper authorities of all criminal and suspicious activities;
Ø Report on the above activities witnessed and performed, and follow up as required;
Ø Report any concerns or feedback from businesses, residents and visitors to the Executive Director;
Ø Refer all media requests to the BID office for prior approval;
Ø Supplemental duties, as needed: Pick up litter from walkways, planters and tree grates, help maintain sidewalks; remove weeds from sidewalks, around planters, benches and tree grates; emptying garbage receptacles; installation of holiday décor/seasonal flags
Ø Watering flower baskets utilizing the BID vehicle, must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
Ø Assist with other duties or projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma is required. Post-secondary education is an asset. Candidates must produce a clear criminal background check and a clean driving record. Candidates must be team-oriented and have a consistently positive, pleasant and professional demeanor. Candidates must be self-motivated, responsible, reliable, hardworking and punctual. They must have strong public relations and diplomatic abilities, pay keen attention to detail and have excellent problem-solving skills. The ability to maintain confidentiality is crucial to the position. Must be physically capable of working on your feet for extended periods, lift up to 50lbs, and be able to perform other duties. This position will be working outdoors majority of the time, as weather permits. Initiative, responsibility, and dependability are desired qualities of candidates.
HOURS OF WORK/RATE OF PAY
Hours of work are variable from Sunday through Saturday; morning, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts for a total of up to 20 hours per week. Pay starting at $17/hour, depending on experience. The seasonality of this position requires more hours from April 1st until October 31st, and lessened hours from November 1 – March 31, dependent upon weather, date(s) subject to change.
