Position Description
The Lead Tutor will serve as the direct manager for all of our part-time tutors. The candidate must be self-motivated, incredibly detail-oriented, and extremely comfortable multitasking. Candidate reports directly to the Executive Director of Operations. Duties include:
Client Management
- Oversee the entire tutoring process for his/her own clients
- Maintain a caseload of around 20 clients total
- Be able to make multi-year commitments to students and meet after school hours and on weekends
- Serve as the face of GE College Prep, leading engaging webinars and boot camps that showcase our expertise and highlight the unique value of our tutoring services, attracting prospective clients and building brand awareness
- Conduct one-on-one diagnostic reviews with potential clients, connecting with them on a personal level while effectively communicating our offerings and demonstrating how our tailored approach can meet their specific needs to facilitate conversions
Team Management
- Assist in the interview process with tutor candidates, make recommendations based on overall fit, knowledge base, and alignment with the company’s values
- Oversee tutoring staff, review and evaluate performance through check-in meetings and annual reviews, provide feedback (both positive and corrective), and provide additional resources as needed
- Assess staffing needs and recommend hiring when necessary
- Collaborate with other senior staff on the design and implementation of tutor training and professional development programs
- Stay informed of test prep trends and policies
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree from a Top 50 institution

Requirements
- Expert knowledge in standardized testing

At least 5 years of verifiable experience, either
- Working for a reputable tutoring company or
- Working as a teacher at an accredited high school, college, or university
- Extremely reliable, friendly, and confident – no wallflowers! We only hire people with upbeat, outgoing personalities
- Demonstrated passion for helping students excel in school and reach their full potential
- Available after school and on weekends
- Access to a personal laptop for sessions
- Access to a reliable internet connection
- Reliable transportation with valid car insurance for potential in-person sessions
- Ability to consistently schedule with clients in different time zones

- Experience tutoring other standardized tests (e.g., LSAT, MCAT, GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, etc.)
- Classroom experience (as a teacher or teaching assistant)
- Teaching credential(s)
- Postgraduate degree(s)

Compensation & Additional Details
This is a full-time, salaried, non-exempt position with an annual base salary starting at $75,000. Eligible employees can participate in certain benefits, including but not limited to:
