Job Summary
We are seeking a Residential Adult Group Home Manager, to lead and oversee the daily operations of a group home dedicated to supporting adults with developmental disabilities. In this role, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality care, foster a safe and supportive environment, and coordinate services that promote independence and well-being. Your leadership will empower staff, engage residents, and uphold compliance with all regulatory standards and the core values of Great Day Residential.
The following is a job description and duties of the House Manager position.
- The House Manager position provides direction, development, implementation, direct supervision, and monitoring of the residential services that are provided by GREAT DAY RESIDENTIAL.
- This position has the responsibility of implementing approved assessments and individual service and/or treatment plans. The House Manager does not have to be a qualified QMRP/QIDP but must have proven experience as a DSP for more than one year and experience conducting and following assessments and individual service plans. Knowledge of characteristics and concepts of intellectual disabilities, mental health, health disorders and related physical conditions and treatment approaches.
- The House Manager is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day functions within the residential setting. This includes securing the well-being and safety of the residents, the observation, direct supervision, and evaluation of Direct Support Professionals. Providing coverage as needed. Responsibilities also include maintenance and repairs to the house, vehicle, appliances, and other equipment. The House Manager is under the direct supervision of the Executive Directors.
The House Manager duties include:
- Overall management of the home, ensuring coverage and supervision of all residents and staff, and providing temporary coverage as needed.
- Assistance in the development and approval of the assessments and ISP for each individual in the home.
- Implementation and documentation of the residential ISP goals. Provide support and guidance to the individuals in the home, to ensure that the home, the appliances, the vehicles, and the equipment are safe and operational.
- Oversee medication administration in accordance with healthcare regulations and ensure proper documentation.
- Supervise direct care staff, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated team.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, social workers, families, and community resources to ensure comprehensive support for residents.
- Manage budgets, maintain accurate records, and oversee operational tasks such as scheduling and inventory management.
- Ensuring that the fundamental rights of each individual in the home are protected.
- Assuming responsibility for the individuals in the house during the day when they are unable to attend their day program, school, or work (e.g., for illness, inclement weather, etc.).
- House Managers are bound by a 24-hour shift. Hours and duties vary depending upon specific circumstances.
- Ability to complete DSP job description as listed.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments with a focus on senior care or memory care.
- Extensive background working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, or dementia.
- Strong management skills with demonstrated supervisory experience in group home or retirement home settings.
- Knowledge of care planning processes and familiarity with medication administration protocols.
- Financial acumen for budgeting and resource allocation within residential facilities.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
