Job Description:
At Great Central Lumber & Millwork, we pride ourselves on being a regional leader in contractor sales to residential and commercial builders in the St. Louis area. We are looking for a Warehouse/Delivery Helper to assist with the safe loading and unloading of material, maintaining consistent inventory levels, manage workload and follow organizational initiatives throughout the yard.
Responsibilities:
- Handle loading and receiving of products in the safest, most efficient, manner possible
- Load required items on the pick ticket
- Communicate to dispatch any changes from pick ticket
- Transport all finished goods to their proper place and stacked safely, by forklift
- Maintain the warehouse inventory in an organized manner, on a daily basis, by making sure all goods are stored in the proper place; inform the supervisor of any low inventories detected
- Carry out employment duties in accordance with applicable safety rules and procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills.
- Persistence and perseverance to meet goals.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
- Ability to work with inventory control devices
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Forklift experience
- Be able to read a tape measure
- Class E Driver License (helpful but not needed)
Working Conditions:
- The physical demands of the position require an individual to have the ability to bend, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and be able to lift and/or move between 50 - 100 pounds.
- Exposure to the elements – heat, cold, rain, wind, snow
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
