Assistant Dean of Nursing - Workforce Development & Clinical Education Leadership
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Assistant Dean of Nursing to join our dynamic healthcare education team. Working in close partnership with the Dean of Nursing, you will oversee critical instructional programs, clinical operations, and faculty development while ensuring regulatory compliance and academic quality across all nursing education programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Nursing Program Management & Oversight: Plan, evaluate, and ensure compliance of all nursing programs; supervise faculty performance and professional development; manage clinical site partnerships; oversee curriculum development and implementation; coordinate program budgets; advocate for program resources and student success
- Administrative Leadership: Maintain comprehensive program records, accreditation documentation, and compliance reports; collaborate with Human Resources on faculty recruitment, evaluation, and retention; participate actively in institutional committees and strategic planning initiatives
- Clinical Operations & Site Coordination: Assess and develop clinical education sites; manage clinical faculty staffing and student placements; conduct site evaluations and quality assurance reviews; maintain healthcare partner communications and relationships; negotiate and manage clinical affiliation contracts
- Instructional Excellence & Faculty Development: Provide direct nursing instruction and mentorship; lead curriculum development and revision processes; implement innovative teaching methodologies and evidence-based practices; ensure timely completion of course assignments, grading, and student evaluations
- Student Success & Engagement: Coordinate student orientations and onboarding; provide academic advising and career guidance; develop intervention strategies for at-risk students; ensure graduation requirements and licensing examination compliance; foster inclusive and supportive learning environments
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where the Workforce Development site is located
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required; active enrollment in Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related graduate program strongly preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year teaching experience in an accredited nursing education program
- Minimum of one (1) year clinical practice experience as a registered nurse in acute care or specialty healthcare setting
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups
- Proficiency with educational technology platforms including MS Teams, Zoom, Canvas or other Learning Management Systems (LMS), and electronic health record systems
- Knowledge of nursing education accreditation standards and regulatory requirements
