Assistant Dean of Workforce Development - Nursing Programs | Leadership Role in Healthcare EducationWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Dean of Workforce Development to join our leadership team in nursing education. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape the future of healthcare workforce development by providing strategic oversight of nursing program activities, faculty management, and clinical site coordination. As Assistant Dean, you will work closely with the Dean to deliver exceptional educational experiences that prepare the next generation of nursing professionals while ensuring program excellence and regulatory compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Management & Leadership:Assist the Dean in planning, developing, managing, and evaluating all aspects of nursing workforce development programsProvide site supervision and management of faculty, staff, and nursing program activitiesDevelop and implement innovative nursing curriculum aligned with industry standards and workforce needsEnsure full compliance with state regulations, accreditation standards, and Board of Nursing requirementsPrepare comprehensive data reports and documentation for state and regulatory bodiesCollaborate with Human Resources on faculty and staff credentialing and documentationIdentify and secure external resources and partnerships to enhance program qualitySupport student admissions processes and new student orientation programsMaintain a 50% teaching load in laboratory and clinical settingsClinical Site Coordination & Management:Serve as primary clinical site liaison for nursing program partnershipsAssess and evaluate clinical sites for patient safety, adequate staffing, and alignment with course objectivesConduct regular meetings with clinical faculty and provide updates to the DeanEnsure timely completion of clinical evaluations by all clinical faculty membersCoordinate with Clinical Education Management team for contract negotiations and updatesDocument and maintain minutes of inter-agency and clinical partner meetingsFaculty Development & Collaboration:Lead and contribute to the faculty team in preparing and delivering high-quality nursing curriculumSupport strategic planning initiatives and continuous program quality assessmentMentor and evaluate faculty performance while promoting professional developmentMaintain current knowledge of educational technologies, safety regulations, and best practices in nursing educationActively participate in committee work that advances the program mission and institutional goalsAttend and facilitate faculty meetings and professional development sessionsStudent Success & Academic Support:Develop comprehensive skills lab and clinical orientation programs in collaboration with faculty and clinical partnersAssist in planning and reviewing nursing student recruitment and admission strategiesEnsure all students meet graduation requirements and licensing preparation standardsMonitor student progression and implement interventions to support academic successRequired QualificationsEducation & Licensure:Valid, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or applicable state (relocation assistance available; California licensure costs covered for qualified candidates)Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) strongly preferredCurrent knowledge of nursing education standards and Board of Nursing regulationsProfessional Experience:Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in college-level nursing programsMinimum 4 years of direct patient care experience as a Registered NurseDemonstrated experience in supervision, leadership, and personnel managementExperience with budget planning and resource allocation preferredPrevious experience in workforce development or continuing education programs a plusSkills & Competencies:Exceptional leadership and team management abilitiesStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and regulatory complianceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems (LMS)Ability to build and maintain collaborative partnerships with clinical sites and community organizationsStrong analytical skills for program assessment and data reportingCommitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in nursing educationWhy This Is a Great OpportunityThis is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary healthcare education leader to make a lasting impact on workforce development and community health.
