Job Summary
Great Barrington Housing Authority is seeking to fill a position effective on or about July 1st for a Resident Services Coordinator. This position will be a 20 hour per week fixed schedule with benefits. Starting pay will be $21 - $23/per hour based on experience. We are seeking someone with experience. Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for residents, referring to housing authority staff when necessary, and addressing inquiries and resolving concerns promptly and professionally
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management when residents face emergencies or behavioral health challenges
- Implement motivational interviewing techniques to support residents in achieving personal goals and overcoming barriers
- Collaborate with community partners to connect residents with appropriate services
- Plan, coordinate, and host regular activities for the residents of Great Barrington's three locations in Housatonic, Great Barrington, and Sheffield.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in social work, behavioral health, or related fields with a focus on crisis intervention and crisis management
- Strong background in mental health support, the ability to listen, and communicate with sympathy, and empathy.
- Knowledge of State Funded public housing programs, and how that programming works.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor residents and collaborate effectively with community partners
- Ability to handle sensitive situations involving behavioral health issues or crises with professionalism and empathy
- Experience working with elderly and family sectors
This is a new position to the Great Barrington Housing Authority that will be grant funded. The grant will be effective July 1, 2026.
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
