Position Overview:
The Reception Associate is the crucial first point of contact for our guests and the primary guardian of our store's security and compliance protocols. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming and safe environment by expertly verifying identifications, managing guest flow, and providing outstanding initial customer service. As the "face" of our dispensary, you set the tone for every customer's visit and are essential to our operational integrity and reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security & Compliance:
- Vigilantly monitor the entrance and reception area.
- Meticulously check and verify all customer IDs and paperwork to ensure they are valid, authentic, and meet state regulations for age (21 ) and eligibility.
- Maintain accurate visitor logs and manage the flow of customers into the retail space to prevent overcrowding.
- Ensure all individuals entering the facility are authorized to do so.
- Uphold all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and state-mandated cannabis regulations without exception.
- Customer Service & Experience:
- Greet every customer with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
- Provide clear instructions to new customers on the process for entry and purchasing.
- Answer basic questions and direct more complex inquiries to the appropriate budtender.
- Manage incoming phone calls, taking messages or directing calls as needed.
- Thank customers as they exit and invite them to return.
- Operational Tasks:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure reception area.
- Assist with light administrative duties such as updating waitlists, and coordinating with the sales floor.
- Multitask effectively between greeting customers, verifying IDs, answering phones, and supporting the team.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a reception, front desk, security, or high-volume customer service role is highly preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, outgoing, and positive personality.
- Impeccable attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to following rules and procedures.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor; must be clean, well-groomed, and "put together."
- Must be self-motivated, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check as required by the Cannabis Control Commission.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
Schedule & Compensation:
- This is a full-time position.
- Must have full availability; shifts will include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience.
